Yamaha EX, EX Sport and EX Deluxe Fault Codes: List
The EX series has a control unit with 35 to almost 50 messages. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC reads them and explains them so you do not have to look up every number.
The most important codes
- 13 pulser coil, 15 engine temperature, 19 battery voltage
- 23 intake air temperature, 24 camshaft, 29 intake pressure
- 47 slant switch, 51 throttle lever closed-position switch, 55 steering sensor
- 63 intake system, 65 exhaust manifold water temperature
- 112 to 145 throttle valve drive, 124 to 128 TPS, 131 to 135 APS
Good to know
The entry-level models have less equipment, so the messages mostly revolve around temperatures, intake, throttle valve and voltage. Depending on the variant, switch codes are added. A message is a hint, not a verdict on the component: first check connector and wire, then the live value, only then the part.
Note on numbering: the codes come from the control units' diagnostic database, as the diagnostic tool reads them. Forums and manuals partly circulate different assignments, especially for older models and for codes shown on the display. When in doubt, the description in the app counts.
