Buy, plug in, flash, unplug: that is how your Sea-Doo 130 gets to 170 hp, with no unlock and no mail-in. With the M-JET FLASHER you do it yourself at the dock or in the garage, in a few minutes. Here is the Sea-Doo 130 to 170 process step by step, with a checklist.
130 tune, no unlock: which models
The GTI 130 and GTI SE 130 (model years 2020 to 2027), the GTX PRO 130 (2021 to 2024) and the GTX 130 (2025 and 2026) get 170 hp. The FishPro Scout 130 (2022 to 2026) sits in the same group and also needs no unlock. The process is the same on all of them.
What you need
- M-JET FLASHER Lite or Pro, Sea-Doo Spark & 130 PS group
- a smartphone with iOS or Android and Bluetooth
- a well charged battery in the boat
- a few quiet minutes
What you do not need: a laptop, a cable kit, a shop appointment, tools.
Checklist before the flash
The list sounds like more than it is. In practice it takes a few minutes.
- Check battery voltage. A weak battery is a typical reason for an interrupted flash. Charge it fully or hook up a battery maintainer.
- Read the fault memory. If there are stored codes, sort them out first. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC or the FLASHER Pro shows you right away.
- Park the boat safely. On the trailer or tied up at the dock, never while riding.
- Charge your phone. The flash does not take long, but a dead phone halfway through is a hassle.
- Stay hands off. Do not change anything on the boat during the flash and do not unplug the dongle.
Step 1: Buy
In the configurator, pick the Sea-Doo Spark & 130 PS group and choose Lite or Pro. Both use the same dongle and the same maps. Lite is tuning by app. Pro adds diagnostics: live data and data logger, read and clear the fault memory, service reset. If you do your own maintenance, Pro is the more practical pick.
Step 2: Plug in
Plug the dongle into the diagnostic port of your Sea-Doo. Open the app on iOS or Android and connect it to the dongle via Bluetooth. Follow the prompts in the app.
Step 3: Flash
Choose the setup for your model in the app and start the flash. It takes a few minutes. Keep the phone close to the boat and do not interrupt the process. Once the app reports that it is finished, the new setup is in the ECU.
Step 4: Unplug
Pull the dongle, done. Nothing stays installed on the ski. No add-on module that can work loose, no extra connector in the hull. Then take a short test ride, solo first, then the way you normally ride.
With the Pro version, a quick look at the fault memory after the test ride is worth it. If nothing new shows up, you are done. The data logger also lets you record a run and check later how the engine behaves under load.
Why it is this easy on the 130s
Many newer Sea-Doo models from 2024 on use the Bosch MG1CA920, which needs a one-time unlock before the first flash. That means shipping the ECU to Germany or Florida, or buying a replacement ECU that arrives already unlocked. More on that in Locked MG1 ECU on Sea-Doo: problems and solutions. The 130 models skip that step. You pull nothing and ship nothing, not even for the jump to 170 hp.
Back to stock or reflash
You can restore the stock software from the app at any time, same process: plug in, flash, unplug. You can reflash as often as you like. For a second vehicle you do not need a second dongle, just an additional license.
All models and details are on Sea-Doo 130 tune, no unlock: GTI and GTX to 170 hp. What the extra power does on a loaded touring ski is covered in GTX 130 to 170 hp.
FAQ
How long does the whole thing take?
The flash itself takes a few minutes. Even with the battery check and a look at the fault memory, you are done quickly.
Do I need a laptop?
No. The dongle and the app on your phone are all you need.
Do I have to modify anything on the boat first?
No. No parts to swap, no unlock. You only check the battery and the fault memory.
