Yamaha FX SVHO Code 63: Intake System Reports Irregular Intake Air
Code 63 means on the FX SVHO that the control unit sees irregular intake air. On a supercharged engine that is a case for hose and gasket. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC helps with classification.
How to proceed
- Read the fault memory, note code 63 and accompanying codes (23, 29)
- Compare intake pressure and atmospheric pressure at standstill
- Watch intake pressure at idle and under load
- Visual check: hoses, clamps, gaskets on the intake path
Typical causes
A slipped clamp, a porous hose or a leaking joint in the intake path creates false air and implausible pressure values. With supercharging this has a particular effect because the pressure is used for mixture and ignition. If you find nothing visible, the pressure sensor itself is to be checked. Only clear the memory after the repair and check on a test ride that the message stays away.
