Yamaha WaveRunner Intake Air and Intake Pressure Sensor Fault
Intake air temperature and intake pressure are among the most important input values for the mixture calculation. If the control unit reports a fault here, M-JET DIAGNOSTIC helps you classify it.
What the diagnostics show
- Air pressure sensor out of specification
- Intake air temperature sensor out of specification
- Hint of irregular intake air on some models
- Live values for intake pressure, atmospheric pressure and intake air temperature
Check plausibility
With the engine off and ignition on, intake pressure should roughly equal the ambient air pressure. If it deviates strongly, the sensor or its wiring is suspect. Intake air temperature should roughly match the surroundings when the engine is cold. A permanently impossible value, such as an extreme minus, points to a broken wire or a short circuit. Check connectors, wires and the tightness of the intake area before you replace the sensor.
