Yamaha FX1000(A) and FX1100 Fault Codes: List
The FX1000(A) and the FX1100 of 2003 to 2008 use a control unit with a few more messages than the very first FX. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC reads them and classifies them for you.
The codes of these control units
- 19 pulser coil, 21 engine temperature, 24 throttle position sensor, 25 battery voltage
- 35 intake air temperature, 36 camshaft sensor, 41 air pressure sensor
- 71 slant switch
- 84 bypass valve motor, 85 steering switch
- 99 intake system (irregular intake air), 104 no-wake switch
Not every code occurs on every craft
Which messages exist depends on equipment and model year. The app only shows the entries your control unit knows, with symptom and check steps for each code. Code 99 indicates irregular intake air; typical causes are a slipped intake hose or false air. For faults on the bypass valve motor, idle learning after the repair is worthwhile.
Note on numbering: the codes come from the control units' diagnostic database, as the diagnostic tool reads them. Forums and manuals partly circulate different assignments, especially for older models and for codes shown on the display. When in doubt, the description in the app counts.
