Teaching the Yamaha WaveRunner Idle

After cleaning the throttle body, replacing the battery or working on the intake system, the idle can be unsteady because the control unit has to relearn its values. With M-JET DIAGNOSTIC you start the idle learning of your Yamaha WaveRunner straight from the app.

Procedure

  • Secure the craft, the engine may only run with a water supply
  • Connect the app and choose the idle learning function
  • Start the learning and follow the instructions
  • Watch the idle once it has finished

When it makes sense

Typical occasions are a cleaned or replaced throttle body, a replaced bypass or stepper motor, a battery change or an idle that keeps hunting after the winter break. Learning does not replace a repair: if a sensor is faulty or the engine draws false air, the problem remains. So read the fault memory first. The function is not available on every model; the app only shows it when it is available.
