Teaching the Yamaha WaveRunner Throttle Valve

If the electronic throttle valve was replaced or cleaned, the control unit has to relearn its end positions. With M-JET DIAGNOSTIC you start the throttle valve learning on your Yamaha WaveRunner via app.

What you need

  • Dongle and app, connected to the vehicle
  • A well-charged battery
  • Fault memory read beforehand and causes fixed

Why learning matters

The electronic throttle valve (ETV) is driven by the control unit; there is no throttle cable any more. For the position to be right, the control unit needs reference values. If they are off, the engine may respond badly, hang or go into a limp mode. After learning, compare throttle valve angle and the two voltage values in the live data. They should be steady and plausible. Not every model has the function; the app only shows it if your vehicle supports it.
