Yamaha WaveRunner SCU Initial Learning (RiDE)

On WaveRunners with RiDE, a dedicated unit (SCU) controls shifting and reverse. If it or a related sensor was replaced, it has to be taught. With M-JET DIAGNOSTIC you start the SCU initial learning via app.

When initial learning is needed

• After replacing the SCU
• After work on the shift mechanism or position sensors
• When shifting or reverse no longer work cleanly and there are SCU fault codes

Procedure and notes

Connect the app, choose the SCU initial learning function and follow the steps. The function is only available on models with RiDE, so the app only shows it there. Read the fault memory before learning, because an SCU code often has a simple cause such as a loose connector. Learning does not fix mechanical problems in the shift mechanism. Only work on the craft when it is secure and the pump cannot spin freely.
