Yamaha FZR and FZS Diagnostics (SHO, 2009–2016)
FZR and FZS are the supercharged 1.8-litre models with the SHO engine of 2009 to 2016. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC reads their control units and shows you what the engine reports.
What you check on FZR and FZS
- Fault memory with plain text and check steps
- Live data on intake pressure, throttle valve, temperatures and ignition timing
- Test four ignition coils and four injectors individually
- Keep an eye on knock sensor and exhaust manifold water temperature
Supercharged engine, stay alert
With supercharging, load and heat rise. So pay particular attention to engine and exhaust manifold temperature as well as intake pressure values. A value that deviates from the usual pattern under load hints at a problem in the intake or cooling. With the data logger you can capture the curve of a whole ride and compare it with an earlier recording.
