Yamaha GP1800R Diagnostics (HO and SVHO)
The GP1800R is Yamaha's sport model with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC reads the GP1800R HO and the supercharged GP1800R SVHO of model years 2017 to 2023 via app.
What matters on the GP1800R
- Four-cylinder: four ignition coils and four injectors for individual testing
- Around 50 fault codes in the control unit
- Sensors for knock, camshaft, intake pressure and throttle valve
- Functions such as service reset and operating hours depending on the model
Sport model, high load
If you ride a GP flat out regularly, you strain engine and electrics heavily. A test ride with the data logger shows whether voltage or intake pressure collapse at full load or whether the engine knocks. Let the live data run and ride the stretch where the problem occurs. When buying used, look at the distribution of operating hours: many hours in the upper RPM range point to hard use.
