Yamaha WaveRunner Engine Warning Lit
An engine warning lights up on the display and, depending on the model, it beeps as well. The display only says something is wrong, not what. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC reads the stored reason from the control unit.
How to find the reason
- Secure the craft and switch the engine off
- Plug in the dongle, connect the app, read the fault memory
- Read the plain text and check steps
- Fix the cause, clear the memory, test ride
Not every warning is an emergency
A warning can come from a sensor that only drops out now and then, from low battery voltage or from a temperature value outside the limits. On serious problems the control unit reduces engine power to protect the engine. If the craft warns of overheating or too low oil pressure, do not ride on; shut the engine off and look for the cause. When in doubt, a specialist workshop decides.
