Yamaha VX and VX Cruiser (from 2016) Fault Codes: List
The VX with the TR-1 three-cylinder has 35 to almost 50 messages in the control unit depending on model year. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC reads them and shows symptom and check steps for every code.
The most important codes
- 13 pulser coil, 15 engine temperature, 19 battery voltage
- 23 intake air temperature, 24 camshaft, 29 intake pressure
- 47 slant switch, 51 throttle lever closed-position switch, 55 steering sensor
- 63 intake system, 65 exhaust manifold water temperature
- 112 to 145 throttle valve drive, 124 to 128 TPS, 131 to 135 APS
- On RiDE variants additionally 150 to 154 RPS and 157 to 164 SCU
No knock sensor, fewer codes
The TR-1 models have no knock sensor in the fault range but the same temperature, pressure and throttle valve messages as the bigger engines. The app only shows the codes your control unit knows. Several messages at once often point to voltage, connector or ground: check that first.
Note on numbering: the codes come from the control units' diagnostic database, as the diagnostic tool reads them. Forums and manuals partly circulate different assignments, especially for older models and for codes shown on the display. When in doubt, the description in the app counts.
