Buying a Used Yamaha VX: Diagnostic Check at the Jetty

The VX is a popular used craft, not rarely from rental or club use. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC shows you at the appointment what the control unit tells about age and use.

Checklist

• Fault memory with all stored entries
• Hours in total and per RPM range
• Live values at idle: temperatures, voltage, intake pressure
• Briefly activate coils and injectors 1 to 3

Evaluation

Many hours in low ranges and a clean memory are a good sign. Many starts and high running time fit rental; that is no exclusion criterion but a reason to check pump, impeller and battery more closely. Compare model, serial number and part number with the papers. An empty memory proves nothing, so test ride and visual inspection belong too.
