Yamaha VXR: Power Fading, Check Intake Pressure and Throttle
VXR and VXS live off their power-to-weight ratio. If power fades, you want to know: electronics or mechanics? M-JET DIAGNOSTIC gives you measurements for that.
Record and compare
- Engine speed, throttle valve angle and intake pressure under full load
- Engine and exhaust manifold water temperature over ride time
- Battery voltage under load
- Fault memory for sensor and throttle valve messages
Evaluating
If intake pressure unexpectedly falls under load, check the intake path and its tightness. If temperature climbs continuously, the control unit may be reducing power. If all values are unremarkable and the craft stays slow anyway, it is often the pump or impeller. That gives you a data basis for deciding where to continue.
