Checking Yamaha WaveRunner Ignition Coil and Injector
If the engine runs badly on one cylinder, the question is: ignition coil, injector or something else? With M-JET DIAGNOSTIC you activate both components per cylinder individually.
How to test
- Read the fault memory and note hints on ignition or injection
- Activate the ignition coil of the suspect cylinder and check the response
- Activate the injector of the same cylinder and check the response
- Compare with the other cylinders
The comparison decides
If three cylinders respond normally and one does not, you have found the candidate. Then first check connector and wire to the component before you replace anything. The number of cylinders depends on the engine: three-cylinders as in VX, EX and JetBlaster show three entries, four-cylinders as in GP and FX four. When testing the injectors you work on the fuel system; mind ventilation and ignition sources.
