M-JET DIAGNOSTIC · YAMAHA

Yamaha WaveRunner Overheating and Temperature Sensor

A temperature warning is not a case for riding on. With M-JET DIAGNOSTIC you see engine temperature and the water temperature at the exhaust manifold live and can tell whether there is really too much heat or a sensor reports wrongly.

What you read out

  • Engine temperature sensor with fault code or live value
  • Exhaust manifold water temperature on models with this sensor
  • Thermo switch and intake air temperature
  • Fault memory for overheating events

Sensor or real overheating?

If the value rises plausibly with load and falls again at idle, the heat is real: then check the cooling water path, pump, intake grate and intake hose for blockage. If the value jumps or shows an impossible reading, the sensor or wire is the better lead. Never run the engine on land without a water supply. On real overheating: switch off, let it cool, look for the cause.
