Yamaha 1.9 Litre: RiDE, SCU and RPS on FX, GP and VX
The new 1.9-litre models have an expanded shift system. SCU and RPS report state and position to the control unit. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC reads both.
What you check
- SCU codes 157 to 164 and RPS codes 150 to 154
- Shift angle and RPS signals when shifting
- Cruise/no-wake switch (code 68)
- After SCU replacement: initial learning
Classification
Several shift codes at once often have a shared trigger such as voltage or connector. If the values change cleanly in the app, the electronics are fine and the cause lies in the mechanism. Only work on the craft when it is secure.
