Yamaha FX140 and FX Cruiser Diagnostics (2002–2008)
The early FX models with the MR-1 engine have been on the water for over 20 years. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC supports FX140, FX Cruiser, FX HO and FX Cruiser HO of model years 2002 to 2008.
What is special about the early FX
- Four-cylinder with 998 or 1052 cc
- On the FX1000 one ignition coil serves two cylinders, tested as a pair of 1 and 4 and a pair of 2 and 3
- Four injectors and fuel pump for individual testing
- Manageable fault range with roughly eight to fourteen codes on the early control units
Little electronics, clear hints
Because the early control units have fewer functions, the messages are unambiguous: air pressure, intake temperature, engine temperature, battery voltage, camshaft, pulser coil or slant switch. On vehicles this age, always check battery, ground cable and connectors before you replace a part.
