Yamaha FX140 No Longer Reaches Top Speed
Used to be around 80 km/h, now just over 50: that is how FX140 owners describe the power drop in forums. A diagnostic tool does not clear everything but separates electronics from mechanics. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC shows you what the engine sees internally.
What you look at
- Engine speed at full throttle: does the engine reach its top RPM?
- Intake pressure and throttle position under full load
- Engine temperature: does a protection function intervene?
- Fault memory for sensor faults
Engine speed decides
If the engine reaches top RPM but the craft does not get faster, the problem is more likely in pump, impeller or intake, that is, in the mechanics. If RPM already falls short, fault memory, temperature as well as intake pressure and throttle help. With the data logger you record a test ride and know where to look next before you order parts.
