Yamaha FX HO: Overheating, Exhaust Manifold Water Temperature (Code 65)
The FX HO has several temperature measuring points. If it reports overheating, the question is which point is too hot or reports wrongly. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC shows you the values side by side.
What you compare
- Code 15: engine temperature sensor
- Code 65: exhaust manifold water temperature
- Thermo switch in the switch status
- Curve at idle, planing and full load
Cooling or cavitation?
In forums, too little cooling water through cavitation or foreign objects in the inlet is often named as the cause of overheating messages. Then the values rise plausibly with load and you look in the water path. If only one of the two temperature values shows an outlier, its sensor or wire is the better lead. On real overheating do not ride on; shut the engine off.
