Yamaha FZR and FZS: Check the Intake Pressure Sensor (Code 29)
With supercharging, intake pressure is a key value. Code 29 reports an intake pressure sensor out of specification. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC helps you classify the message.
How to check the sensor
- Ignition on, engine off: intake pressure should roughly equal atmospheric pressure
- Compare intake pressure and atmospheric pressure in the live data
- At idle: a calm, stable value
- Check connector, wire and hose to the sensor
What a deviation means
If atmospheric and intake pressure do not match at standstill, the sensor or its connection is suspect. A value that flutters at idle points to false air or a poor contact. Because the control unit uses the boost pressure for injection quantity and ignition, a fault affects power directly. Check the simple things first.
