Yamaha GP1800R: Cruise and No-Wake Switch Not Responding (Code 68)
The GP1800R's cruise and no-wake switch is monitored continuously by the control unit. If it reports an irregular signal with code 68, you see with M-JET DIAGNOSTIC whether the switch or the connection is to blame.
How to check
- Fault memory: code 68 active or only stored?
- Switch status in the live data when operating it
- Connector for moisture and corrosion
- Clear the memory and cross-check with a test ride
Evaluation
If the value changes cleanly, the switch works and the message was probably a sporadic contact fault. If it stays put or flickers, the switch is the better candidate. Because it is exposed to water and salt, it is worth checking the connector at every cleaning.
