Yamaha WaveRunner Season Start: Diagnostic Check After Winter

After months in the garage, the WaveRunner should simply run in spring. A short check with M-JET DIAGNOSTIC shows you before the first ride whether everything is in order.

Your checklist via app

  • Read the fault memory, also noting old entries from last season
  • Check battery voltage, at standstill and when starting
  • Look at live data at idle and compare with plausible values
  • Briefly activate ignition coils, injectors and fuel pump
  • Reset the service warning after the oil change

Why the check is worth it

After standing idle, battery, connectors and fuel are the most frequent weak spots. You spot them at the jetty, not only on the water. If you ride in saltwater, flush the engine after every ride and regularly check the connectors for corrosion. If the idle is unsteady after winter, teaching idle and throttle valve often helps. For all work on the fuel system: good ventilation, no ignition sources.
