Yamaha SVHO and SHO Diagnostics (Supercharged Models)
At Yamaha, SHO and SVHO stand for the supercharged engines. They are powerful and react more sensitively to faults in cooling and intake. With M-JET DIAGNOSTIC you keep the important values in view.
What to watch on supercharged engines
- Intake air temperature and intake pressure
- Engine and exhaust manifold water temperature
- Knock sensor and ignition timing
- Battery voltage and fuel pump
How to proceed
Read the fault memory first. Then watch the live data at standstill and afterwards on a ride with the data logger. If intake air temperature rises unusually or intake pressure drops under load, the intake system, charge cooling and tightness are the first candidates. If engine damage is suspected, let a specialist workshop decide instead of riding on.
