Yamaha VX Diagnostics (2015 onwards)

The VX with the 1.05-litre TR-1 engine is Yamaha's most ridden entry point. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC supports VX, VX Deluxe, VX Cruiser and VX Limited from model year 2015 and reads their control unit via app.

What is different on the VX

• Three-cylinder: three ignition coils and three injectors for individual testing
• Electronic throttle valve with accelerator position sensor
• Depending on model year around 35 to almost 50 fault codes in the control unit
• Newer VX with RiDE and SCU; the app shows the functions accordingly

Typical cases for diagnostics

Unsteady idle after winter, a warning on the display with no obvious cause or missing power under load: the fault list and live data narrow the search. Sensors such as intake air, engine or exhaust manifold water temperature and the throttle valve often give the decisive clues. The service reset after the oil change is also a job you do yourself.
