Yamaha VX110: Temperature Alarm After 15 Minutes Despite New Sensors
A forum classic: the alarm comes after about 15 minutes, three sensors are already replaced and the cylinder water passage was cleaned. M-JET DIAGNOSTIC shows you whether the temperature really rises or the alarm has another cause.
What you compare
- Engine temperature (code 15) over time
- Whether the alarm comes with a rising value or with a constant value
- Oil pressure switch and thermo switch in the live data
- Battery voltage while riding
Several triggers possible
On some Yamaha models, overtemperature and low oil pressure share the same warning tone. If the engine temperature in the app does not rise at all, the cause is more likely the thermo switch or the oil pressure switch than the temperature sensor. If it really does rise, cooling water is missing: inlet, pump and hoses are next. That saves you replacing further sensors on a hunch. The oil pressure switch only shows its state in the app. If real oil shortage is suspected, you also check oil pressure mechanically with a gauge; a diagnostic tool does not replace that.
